BRAC University (BU) organised a cultural programme at the BRAC Centre recently to celebrate the Independence Day.
BU Vice Chancellor Jamilur Reza Choudhury inaugurated the function. He said that the new generation was not getting the proper information about war of independence. It's our duty to give them the correct history of the war, he added.
Masrur-Ul-Haq (Komal Siddiqui, Bir Uttam) then described some factual events of Liberation War to the audience.
Three eminent singers of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Shaheen Samad and Bipul Bhattacharya, sang the popular country song while Halima Jabbar, wife of Abdul Jabbar recited her own poems and described events at the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.
The programme was presented by Zainab F Ali.
Fuad Hassan Mallick, chairpersons of other departments, faculty members, students and BU officials were present at the function.
