JESSORE, Mar 31 (BDNEWS): Tension mounts in Jessore MM College campus as leaflets were found in the room of a teacher of the college demanding release of Asadullah Al Galib, who was arrested in connection with Islamic militants. Progressive student organisation, active in the college, warned of tough agitation programmes if necessary action is not taken against the teacher, who had the leaflets. The teachers of the college also discussed the matter in an urgent meeting Thursday. Student leaders of the college said, they found some 10-12 leaflets on the table of associate professor Emdadul Huq of the Botany department that read: "Let's get united and vocal to protest the arrest and demand release of eminent aleem, educationist and ameer of Ahle Hadith Movement Muhammad Asadullah Al Galib." When his attention was drawn, the college principal said if the allegation against the teacher is proved, necessary action would be taken according to rule. A five-member probe committee was also formed to investigate the matter. The committee is expected to submit its report by April 7. Student leaders of different student bodies including Chhatra Moitree, Chhatra Front, Biplobi Chhatra Moitree, said Emdad was a spy of extremist militant organisation. When contacted, Emdad said he had no leaflet and he is not also involved with any such incident.
