Propaganda against Islam a Zionist strategy to destroy it: Nizami
4/1/2005

Industries Minister Moulana Matiur Rahman Nizami Thursday said speaking against Jamaat-e-Islami is tantamount to speaking against Islam and conspiracy against Islam means working against humanity, reports BDNEWS.
He was addressing at an 'Olema Mashayekh Conference' (rally of the Islamic religious personnel) at the Diploma Engineers' Institution, organised by the party's city unit.
Without naming the United States, Nizami said after the fall of Soviet Union, a super power considers Islam as the only barrier in its way to establish absolute supremacy across the world.
He termed the worldwide propaganda against Islam as a Zionist-directed strategy to destroy it.
Nizami, who is also the ameer of Jamaat, said, "A rule of tyranny has been established in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the issue is destroying peace across the world."
He said, history witnesses that armed activities beyond state control is not allowed by Islam.
Nizami called upon the 'Olemas' to be aware of the blueprints prepared by the anti-Islamic 'evil forces' in collusion with 'misguided' Olemas active in Bangladesh.
"No overt Islamic party is involved in extremist activities in Bangladesh," he said adding, "The Awami League and some of its pocket organisations like Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council are spreading propaganda abroad that there are 58 Islamic extremist organisations. This is a blatant lie as this number varies time to time even by their supreme leaders."
