The police did not find the ruling party MP's son, Md Noman, wanted in connection with assaulting a traffic police Wednesday, but he slept at home Wednesday night and was also there throughout the following day, reports BDNEWS.
Traffic police constable Abdul Majid filed Wednesday evening a case with Tejgaon Thana against Noman (28), son of Jessore-1 constituency MP Ali Kadar, and his six other accomplices accusing them of assaulting him physically at the city's Manik Miah Avenue in the afternoon.
The injured police constable was shifted to the Rajarbagh Police Line Hospital from the Suhrawardy Hospital after deterioration of his condition, police sources said.
Sub Inspector (SI) Golam Mowla of Tejgaon police station admitted to the news agency of accepting the case lodged against the MP's son and his accomplices under sections 143, 186, 322, 333 and 353.
When contacted, the investigation officer (IO), SI Rezaul Islam of Tejgaon thana, said, "We are looking for Noman, but we did not find him anywhere."
Rezaul said he along with a police force went to the MP's residence at MP Hostel Wednesday night. Besides, they also looked for him at other places, but could not trace.
"We are looking for him and will arrest him," the police officer said.
